Inventions
Many of the things we use today, were invented in the 1920's. Some of these include, the first robot, the band-aid, the lie detector, the first 3D movie, the traffic signal, sliced bread, and many other common things still used today. Many technological advances were also made during this era, including the radio, which allowed citizens to keep up with the pace of the roaring 20's by listening to news, baseball games, and of course, music. Advances in architecture also helped in building the Chrysler building.
Medicine
Alexander Fleming in his Labratory
There were major health breakthroughs in the 1920's including the discovery of insulin which is used for diabetes today. Also, when Alexander Fleming accidentally discovered Penicillin, a mold growing in a petrie dish, which is now used as a basis for most antibiotics still used today. Other medical discoveries made were vitamin C and E.
Science
Today's weather forecast were just being made in the 1920's. In this era, scientists were beginning to predict the weather based on scientific principles. They succeeded in predicting the cold summer of 1927 and further research has been made in order to give accurate forecasts today. Scientists also made a better understanding of the universe and space and more information was gathered on Jupiter and Mars based on photography and radiometric measurements. During this time, the first Robert Hutchinson Goddard became the first man to launch a liquid fuel rocket, paving the way to the enormous rockets launched today.
